A FILM PROJECT undertaken by school-age children that depicts Lossiemouth past, present and future has been completed on a high note.
The Creative Visions project spent much of the summer in and around the Moray coastal town filming at a variety of events as well as conducting interviews with local people, recording their memories of life in the one-time major fishing port.
Leading the project was Yvonne Findlay, who expressed her delight that the project has been completed successfully for which she has praised the “wonderful young team” who worked on every aspect of the production process.
Yvonne said: “It has been an exciting journey with our wonderful young team but the filming finally ended on a high note on Friday when our ‘Lossiemouth Northern Lights Community Choir’ performed our original theme song for Dr Paul Whittaker OBE.
“We were greatly honoured by his taking part in the filming and his words of encouragement.”
Next up for the project is a special screening which will also double as a fundraising event to cover some of the costs of the project. That is being hosted by the Moray Golf Club ahead of the public premier of the film, being held at St James Church in the town on Saturday, October 31.
Yvonne added: “Following the main premier a matinee showing will also be screened at St Gerardines Church on November 7, while there will be a community event following the switch-on of the Lossiemouth Christmas Lights on November 28 – that will be in the Lossiemouth Town Hall.”
Tickets for the premier screenings are available now from the Lossiemouth Post Office, Deli-cious and Buckley’s Newsagent on Queen Street, priced at £5 for adults, £4 for concessions and £2 for under-16’s.
