STORY READING VOLUNTEERS are being sought to assist language development for pre-school children in Moray.
People living in and around Cullen are being asked to consider putting their names forward as readers for the storytime sessions in the local library.
A spokesman said: “Library storytimes promote literacy and language development – they provide youngsters with an exciting literary adventure.”
Stories told to children at an early age can have a significant impact on their development throughout childhood and into adult lives, many pensioners today insisting that some of their earliest memories are being read stories at school or by their parents.
Anyone who would like to volunteer to help with the sessions at Cullen are being asked to contact the community librarian, Eleanor Kidd, on 01343 562617 or by email to eleanor.kidd@moray.gov.uk.
