Parents invited to discuss Elgin school catchment changes

Parents have chance to discuss Elgin school catchment changes

PARENTS WITH CHILDREN attending or soon to be attending any of Elgin’s primary schools are being encouraged to attend a drop-in session later this month.

There they will be able to learn more about new catchment areas recently approved by Moray councillors and coming into effect from January.

Rezoning of all primary schools in Elgin is being carried out following proposals tabled earlier this year following local consultation with school staff and parent organisations.

Now parents who wish to learn more about the plans and how they might affect their children are being invited to chat with education officials at the Elgin Community Centre on Thursday, November 26 from 4pm until 6pm.

Director of education and social care Laurence Findlay will be on hand along with the council’s head of lifelong learning, Graham Jarvis, and senior education adviser Paul Watson to answer any questions or concerns that parents might have.
