MORAY’S COMMUNITY NEWS website has secured a second sponsorship deal that will help maintain the service over the coming months.

Following an appeal for assistance in October, Forres Groups Action Ltd stepped into the breach to prevent an imminent halt of insideMoray’s news service, providing sponsorship for six months spread over the year.

Now Moray furniture firm Grampian Furnishers has once again stepped up to the plate and offered to sponsor the site in February and March.

Grampian Furnishers owner Royce Clark said: “We have been proud to back the community efforts made by insideMoray in the past and we are delighted to be able to do so again.

“People throughout Moray have seen this community news service grow to become one of the most respected outlets of its kind in Scotland, providing daily, independent and non-biased news of specific interest to Moray’s communities.

“The fact that the service is provided by one person and yet draws over 60,000 individual readers each month makes it all the more remarkable.”

insideMoray receives no funding of any kind with its costs subsidised solely by sponsorship from within the community.

Editor Stuart Crowther said: “I am delighted that Grampian Furnishers has once again come forward to assist us, they have been providing strong support to insideMoray for some time now but nothing is ever taken for granted.

“Forres Groups Action Ltd came to our rescue in October just days before I was faced with the prospect of closing the service as I was in no position to personally finance its costs.

“Since then we have continued to grow at a remarkable rate – in the first two weeks of 2016 alone we have drawn in 36,143 distinct readers, with our pages being read an average of 167,157 times each day.  That represents a 25% increase in readership since October 2015.”

Any individual, group or company wishing to sponsor insideMoray can contact Stuart at for details on how they can help maintain the service.
