A FORRES GROUP is today launching their bid to involve as many people in Moray as possible in the annual Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in March.

Forres Area Soccer 7s is bringing the national fundraiser to Moray – now they need local people to get together on Sunday, March 20 by entering the event via www.sportrelief.com.

Soccer 7s Chairman Shaun Moat said: “The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Forres is here – and it’s your time to walk or run yourself proud.

“From little ones with their mums and dads, to runners up against the clock there’s something for everyone to make themselves feel proud on this special day.”

The event, part of Sport Relief 2016, will see participants of all ages taken on a one-mile run or walk through Grant Park in Forres over a course designed by Doug Cowie and Paul Rogan from Forres Harriers.

Shaun added: “Sport Relief 2016 is providing many more ways than ever for you to take part, change lives and feel proud.

“Whether you get sponsored to enter an event at the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games or fundraise with friends and family at home, work or school, you’ll help people living incredibly tough lives.

“In fact, half of all the money raised by the public is spent right here at home in the UK, with the other half used to make a difference in the world’s poorest communities.”

The event is the only one of its kind being held in Moray for Sport Relief 2016 – so present the best way for local people to take part in the national fundraising event. Entrants can enter online now via www.sportrelief.com.
