WALKERS AND CYCLISTS are being warned that a popular crossing over the River Spey is to be closed from Monday.
The old railway viaduct over the river at Garmouth cannot be used by either walkers or cyclists as work is about to commence on replacing timbers on the structure.
Funded by a £120,000 Sustrans grant, with a further £20,000 from Moray Council’s lands and parks budget, the work is expected to take around six weeks.
Alternative signage is being put in place to advise bridge users of a diversion via Mosstodloch for the duration of the works.
