THE WORK OF Robert Burns will be celebrated in Moray this month through the internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and teacher Sophie Bancroft.

Sophie will be accompanied by the Songs Trio for an afternoon concert at Brodie Castle – and have promised to include several of the Bard’s pieces in their performance.

The Bancroft name has become synonymous with Jazz music, coming from a family that has for many years been at the very peak of the UK scene. Sophie’s work has been acclaimed world-wide, including it being used for major US television shows including ‘Six Feet Under’.

No stranger to performing classic Burns, Sophie has regularly included a Blues version of ‘Can Ye Sew Cushions’ in her stage performances.

Her appearance at Brodie will be held on Saturday, January 23 with tickets available now online from the National Trust for Scotland website.
