THE WEEK HAS begun with motorists being warned of snow and ice throughout Moray affecting road surfaces at all levels.
Sleet and snow showers feel throughout Sunday and overnight with a Yellow Alert remaining in place at least until midday today.
“Accumulations of snow up to 2cm is likely at all levels while ice will be a hazard overnight and into Monday morning,” a Met Office spokesman said, adding: “Ice will also be a hazard between snow showers with those areas just inland from the coasts being affected.”
Temperatures are expected to rise to a high of 4deg on coastal areas today before falling back to -1deg this evening. Those further inland can expect little higher than 1deg with temperature gauges falling back to -4deg this evening.
