THOUGHTS ARE TURNING once again to the early summer and one of the most anticipated annual events on the Moray calendar – the Gordon Castle Highland Games and Country Fair.

The 2016 event promises up to 10,000 visitors the very best of entertainment – from cycle stunt performers to the host of traditional events, dancers, pipes and drums that make the Highland Games such a fantastic spectacle.

Gordon Castle will see Fochabers, come alive in May for the one-day gathering kick starts the quintessentially Scottish season with an array of unique and exclusive attractions. Celebrating the Games’ sixth birthday will be performances from adrenalin-fuelled stunt artists The Clan, who are seasoned performers for BBC Children in Need, ITV and the Olympics.

Channelling the very essence of the Games, this year’s schedule will continue to pay homage to traditional heavy sporting events including the hammer throw, caber toss and tug of war. For those looking to sample estate life, clay pigeon shooting, archery and gun dog displays will be just some of the experiences on offer.

For gin lovers, the Gordon Castle Gin tent will continue to be a popular feature as it showcases the Estate’s home-grown small batch botanical gin. In addition, the event will also play host to more local food and drink producers than ever before, as well as a dedicated craft and gift marquee.

Sit back also and relax and enjoy the sounds of pipes, singers and fiddlers as award-winning musicians take to the stage.

The event has been brought back to life by the current owners and which is a feast for the senses will be held in the picturesque grounds of Gordon Castle Estate from 10.30 until 17.00 on Sunday, May 15.
