Cyclist who died in Moray road accident is named

THE YOUNG CYCLIST killed in a Moray road accident on Sunday has been named as Keiran McKandie from the Elgin area.

Keiran, 16, was on the B9010 road between Kellas and Dallas close to Craigend shortly before 11am on Sunday morning when he was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Golf.

Inspector John Barron from the Police Scotland division road policing unit said: “Our thoughts at this extremely sad time are with all those who have been left devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of Keiran, particularly his family and friends.

“I would also like to thank those who rendered assistance at the scene.

“Enquiries are still ongoing into the circumstances. I would urge anyone who may have information that would assist, and who has not yet come forward, to do so as soon as possible.”
