THE WEEKEND COULD start with another icy blast as a Met Office warning for snow and ice overnight remains in force this morning.
An unexpected blizzard hit most of Moray on Wednesday – and forecaster say that this time they are expecting more ice and snow to affect higher routes in Moray this morning.
“There is the potential for some difficult driving conditions,” a spokesman said, adding: “Snow showers will affect the north and east of the country overnight and into Saturday morning.
“While the main snow will fall on higher ground the icy conditions will see roads being affected throughout the region and motorists should take particular care on Saturday morning – extra time should be allowed for all journeys.”
Strong north-easterly winds are also expected to continue throughout the morning.
