POLICE IN ELGIN have issued an appeal for witnesses who may have seen someone acting in a suspicious manner in the area of Duffus Road on Monday evening or early Tuesday morning.

The plea comes after a break-in was discovered at a business premises in the area.

It is believed the incident happened at some point between 3pm on Monday, April 11 and 8.30am the following morning when staff arrived to discover the premises had been raided.

A number of items were taken including a computer and photography equipment – the value of the items taken has been placed as a three-figure sum.

Anyone who may have seen anything or who has been offered such items for sale under suspicious circumstances since Tuesday is being asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or, if they wish to remain anonymous, the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
