A JUNIOR BOOK GROUP is to be re-launched at the Elgin Library aimed at encouraging young people to use their local library – and showing them how to do so.
The book groups are aimed at young people aged from 10 to 12, with individuals or complete school classes, brownies or cubs being encouraged to go along to the groups which are already operating in Buckie, Forres and Keith.
Now the re-launched Elgin club is aiming to meet on the last Tuesday of each month at 4pm – meetings are expected to last for around 30 minutes and are always informal and friendly.
A spokeswoman said: “Young avid book readers really would enjoy talking to others about books and this is an opportunity for them to try something new.
“The book for this month is the Measle Stubbs adventure ‘The Train Set of Terror’ by Ian Ogilvy – but it does not matter if they have not read the book as the first meeting of the new group is more of a getting to know you session.”
The Elgin Junior Book Club will begin again on Tuesday, April 26. The Junior Book Clubs at other Moray libraries are:
Buckie – last Monday of each month at 4pm
Forres – last Monday of each month at 3.45pm
Keith – every fourth Saturday (check with staff) at 10.30am
