ELGIN ROTARY CLUB are planning a massive Picnic in the Park next month as their own special thank you to communities throughout Moray for lending their support.

Motorfun will kick off at 12noon on Sunday, June 5 at Elgin’s Cooper Park, when the event will double up as a celebration of HM the Queen’s 90th Birthday.

“Within our picnic this year there will be a Whisky & Prosecco bar sponsored by Glen Moray,” a spokeswoman for the club told insideMoray this week.

She added: “Ice Cream by Stew n Drews, Pancakes form Inner Wheel and Home Bakes form the Ditsy Tea Cup will also be on the picnic table – along with, of course, Strawberries & Cream with Teas and Coffees.”

Motorfun 2016 will see around 100 motorbikes on display and around 200 ‘show ‘n shine’ cars, as well as a number of charity stalls and car dealers.

The spokeswoman added: “This year will also see a version of ‘It’s a Knockout’ – rebranded the Motorfun Challenge, that will see various team take to the park and compete for an overall winners title.

“We have Knights Challenge this year, a new feature that will be available for picnickers to take part in throughout the day.”

As always, Motorfun is a free entry event that has been sponsored by the Robertson Group – with the thanks of the club going to all other businesses that have donated and supported the event.
