Course aims to help young people cope with life’s pressures

YOUNG PEOPLE IN Moray are being urged to take what could be one of the most important steps in their lives – learning how to cope with the pressures of day to day life that so many can find extremely difficult.

Such pressures surround everyone of all ages – but for young people coping is particularly difficult, and that is why the Elgin Youth Development Group are stepping in with a six-week course aimed at 16 to 24-year-olds – ‘Love ur Selfie’.

Run at the Elgin Youth Café, the course will each week focus on a different topic, taking in confidence and motivation, social media and friendships, stress management, budgeting, healthy eating and preparing a CV.

Youth worker Beth Oxley explained: “There is no criteria for those attending the course other than their being aged between 16 and 24 – and needing to be reminded of just how amazing they are.

“The next course begins on Monday, June 6 at the Elgin Youth Café and is held from 4pm to 6.30pm every Monday until July 11.

“If anyone thinking of taking part has any questions about the course and would like to meet me before they attend or if they just want to book a place then then can get in touch by email to beth@elginyouthcafe.org or by calling 01343 548300.”
