ONE OF SCOTLAND’S top churchmen has been enjoying the first few days of an eight-day tour of Moray since the weekend.
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, Rt Rev Dr Angus Morrison, opened his tour as a guest preacher at the Dallas Church on Sunday.
At the service he presented long service certificates to several members and was himself presented with a gift in the form of a shepherd’s crook from Billy Masson.
On Monday Dr Morrison was guided on further visits by Rev Shuna Dicks from the Aberlour Parish Church, when they spent most of the day in Buckie with a visit to the Cluny Fish Processing plant, staff at Crossreach counselling service and a visit to volunteers at the Buckie RNLI Lifeboat Station.
The Moderator also attended a service at Buckie North Church and again handed out long service awards to elders who had collectively provided 749 years of dedication to the Kirk.
Dr Morrison and his wife was in Speyside yesterday including a visit to Rev Dick’s Aberlour church, and today will visit Forres, Kinloss Barracks, RAF Lossiemouth and New Elgin Primary School.
