
THE BODY OF a man has been recovered from a Moray loch following a police search in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The unnamed 42-year-old had been reported missing from his home prior to the discovery of the body in Sanquhar Loch just south of Forres.
Police say that enquiries into the tragedy are at an early stage and that they were involved in the search alongside coastguard teams, fire and rescue services crews and ambulance crews.
The body was discovered at around 3.15am with a police spokesman saying: “Officers are currently carrying out inquiries into the death of a 42-year-old man who was reported missing in the Forres area at the weekend.
“Following a search around the area of Sanquhar Loch the body of a male was recovered from the water.”
