POLICE OPERATIONS AGAINST drug dealing in Moray have continued this week with an arrest that led to a woman appearing at Elgin Sheriff Court yesterday.
The 30-year-old was arrested in relation to drugs offences that saw the recovery of heroin that had an estimated street value of £3500.
Gemma Gray’s appearance in court came after the execution of a drug search warrant in the Manbeen Place area of Elgin on Tuesday. She was charged on three counts – the first relating to the misuse of drugs, behaving in a threatening manner and resisting arrest.
PC Michael Duncan said ahead of the scheduled court appearance: “We continue to take action against drug dealing in the Moray area as part of Operation Witton and the recovery yesterday is thanks to the continued support we receive from the public who provide valuable information about drug dealing activity.
“Operation Witton continues to run throughout the Moray area and we will respond to information provided to us by the community.
“Over the past few weeks approximately £11,500 of drugs has been recovered and 18 people have been reported or will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal. We are also providing support to people with addiction issues and referring them to support services.”
Anyone who has information they believe would be of help to police is asked to contact them on 101.
