RAIL SERVICES THROUGH Moray will be hit by strike action from Tuesday this week until Sunday, July 17 according to ScotRail.

Talks have been taking place between the RMT union and ScotRail over the introduction of driver-only trains – however, the union say that ScotRail operators Abellio are refusing to give way on the issue.

Abellio meanwhile insist that they “remain committed to holding further talks in a bid to avoid any action”.

However, last night ScotRail published details of the proposed strike action, the dates they are planned to take place and the routes that would be affected by cancellations – and these include services through Elgin, Keith and Forres on the Aberdeen to Inverness route.

ScotRail say that they are putting plans in place “to run as many trains as possible to help you get where you need to go”.

Dates when trains will be affected start on Tuesday, June 21 and will continue on Thursday, June 23 and over the weekend June 25/26 – with further action taking place on Sunday’s July 3, 10 and 17.

Cancelled services where busses will operate on these days include the Aberdeen to Inverness route.
