CONCERNS BY RESIDENTS in the Pilmuir area of Forres over the condition of local pathways has sparked a community effort to clear the way.
Overgrown grass has taken over paths around the estate and that was a matter of concern for many residents who contacted local councillor Aaron McLean.
Councillor McLean told insideMoray: “After discussions with our local community champion Kerry Speed, it has been decided that we would gather some help from the local community to clear things up a bit.
“We would love to see some more residents turning out to lend a hand – or even to just bring along their brown bins so that we can more easily get rid of excess grass.
“The local Tesco has also agreed to help out with the exercise for which we are very grateful.
“Anyone who is willing to help out is being asked to meet at either Tesco or Pilmuir Primary School at 10am on Sunday morning (September 4).”
Volunteers are being asked to bring a spade or simply leave their brown bins outside so that they can be used to dispose of the excess grass – with Councillor McLean already promising to take his own along.
