A TWO WEEK SURVEY into Elgin’s parking strategy has been announced by Moray Council.
The local authority is seeking to build on results of a survey undertaken earlier in the summer as part of the groundwork for a new transport strategy in Moray’s main town.
Transportation manager Nicola Moss said: “We want to know what your views are on parking within Elgin, what problems and issues you face and what you think could be done to improve the current parking conditions.
“The views of the public matter and the information they provide will help us to develop a better parking strategy for Elgin.”
Issues over parking in Elgin town centre has caused controversy in recent years, with several councillors believing that parking charges are a main block to increased footfall in the town centre.
Several attempts to scrap charges completely have, however, failed despite strong lobbying from Elgin BID.
The new survey will run until September 27 and can be accessed online.
