MOVES TO IMPROVE the delivery of patient services at Dr Gray’s Hospital are set to continue this week with another meeting between a local MSP and the Chief Executive of NHS Grampian.

Concerns over staffing at the Moray hospital have been rising in recent weeks, prompting a series of exchanges between NHS Grampian, Moray MSP Richard Lochhead and Regional MSP Douglas Ross.

In another move aimed at alleviating concerns over local treatment for those suffering from Parkinson’s and chronic pain support, Richard Lochhead will meet with NHS Grampian chief executive Malcolm Wright today.

Ahead of that meeting the SNP MSP said: “I regularly meet with the Chief Executive of NHS Grampian and I’m looking forward to meeting with him again in Elgin to discuss the delivery of health services in Moray.

“Top of the agenda at our meeting will be the concerns of patients around Parkinson’s services at Dr Gray’s, as well as staffing of Moray’s main hospital generally.

“I’ll be taking the opportunity – as I do every time we meet – to impress upon him the importance of Dr Gray’s to patients in Moray and how vital it is that as many services as possible are delivered locally.”
