JAZZ MUSIC FANS are being enticed to an evening where their music takes centre stage – and at the same time will raise much needed funding for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Craigellachie Hall is the chosen venue this month for a Jazz Evening organised by the charity’s Speyside fundraising committee.
On Friday, October 28 at 7.30pm the second event of its kind is hoping to emulate the fantastic sell-out success of their first, which was held back in March. The hall will again be decked out with upturned whisky barrels, candles and a colour scheme that provides the perfect atmosphere for some of the best music available.
Charlotte Mountain, who chairs the Speyside fundraising committee, told insideMoray: “This year we plan to use the same format of four short programmes performed by local musicians.
“These include the Moray Saxophone Quartet, a group made up of staff from Gordonstoun’s music department, the Dottled Crotchets duo and two singers accompanied by a jazz pianist.
“During the interval wine, soft drinks and delicious canapés will be served to each whisky barrel table. Tickets for the evening are only £15 and all the money raised goes to the charity – everyone has donated their time for which we are immensely grateful.”
Booking in advance for the event is highly recommended as demand is once again likely to outstrip supply. For further information contact Charlotte by email.
