LOCAL COMMUNITIES WILL have an opportunity next week to input into the forthcoming Moray Council wind energy policy.

A consultation event will be taking place in the New Elgin Hall on Monday from 3pm to 8pm, at which planning officers will be on hand to answer questions.

The event is the result of a decision by the planning committee at Moray Council to hold a nine-week long consultation period over their future policy for onshore wind farm applications – consultations will close on Monday, November 14.

The council’s approach to considering and determining planning applications and for making observations on development proposals to the Scottish Government are under consideration, as is the information requirements and issues to be addressed in the various application stages.

Alongside these will be the overall strategy for wind turbine developments – including spatial framework and detailed policy guidance maps.

The full guidance prepared by Moray Council so far can be seen online.

Representations can be e-mailed to localdevelopmentplan@moray.gov.uk or posted to Development Plans, Development Services, Moray Council, PO Box 6760, Elgin IV30 9BX.
