ONE OF MORAY’S most successful community ventures is hoping to widen its scope from its base in Forres and taken in communities throughout the Highlands.

Forres Area Soccer 7s has been operating in the towns Grant Park successfully for several years, providing a sporting outlet for boys and girls from February to October.

Included in their programme is an annual community football tournament – and it is through that they hope to expand by inviting community groups from throughout the Highlands as well as Moray to take part.

The Margaret Cameron tournament will this year take place at Grant Park on Saturday April 22 – and all schools and community organisations from Moray and Highlands area are welcome to attend the football festival.

Chairman Shaun Moat said: “Last year we had 12 local teams from the Moray Area from schools to Boys Brigades – and we would love for other schools and groups from the highland s to come and enjoy what will be a great day.”

Teams entered will be both boys and girls and consist of 10 players between the aged between 7-10 playing in a seven-a-side competition format.

Schools and Clubs can register their team and find more information by sending an Email to play@forres-soccer7s.co.uk.

The Forres Area Soccer 7s provides football for boys and girls aged from 4 to 12 years old organised into three levels – Development 4s, Super 5s and Soccer 7s.
