A MORAY COMMUNITY is in shock after learning that a 16-year-old boy has been found dead near his home in Buckie.
Police have confirmed that the teenager, a pupil at Buckie High School, was discovered close to the family home.
A spokeswoman said that while police inquiries were at an early stage it was not thought that there were any suspicious circumstances.
“We can confirm that officers were called to a property in the Buckie area on Monday evening following reports of the sudden death of a 16-year-old,” the police spokeswoman said.
She continued: “As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
It is the second time in a matter of months that pupils at the school have had cause to grieve a tragic loss. In October a collision on the B9016 Buckie to Keith road resulted in the death of 14-year-old Buckie High School pupil Neringa Narusyte.
Earlier today Moray Council announced that a drop-in session scheduled this evening for P7 children had been cancelled.
