Elgin primary to represent Moray in European Quiz

AN ELGIN PRIMARY school will represent Moray at the annual Scottish European Education Trust quiz at Holyrood in May.

The annual Euroquiz is open to P6 pupils from schools throughout Scotland and brings teams of four working together to broaden their knowledge of Europe.

Diverse subjects including history, geography, sport, culture and language are included in the questions – along with several that seeks to test the pupils’ knowledge of the European Union.

For the Moray heats, 12 teams took part – and from that the St Sylvester’s Primary team captained by Adam Landicho was victorious. Adam was supported by Alisa Bodman, Dea Nunag and Beth Dempster.

The emerged winners after a tense final in which they beat Applegrove Primary in Forres by a single point.
