Jazz fans set for an Elgin treat as rising stars come calling

LOVERS OF JAZZ MUSIC in Moray are set for a treat next month when a Perth-based quartet who are rapidly creating a major reputation make an appearance in Elgin.

The Pappas Quartet, founded by Jazz pianist Visilis Pappas, will make a guest appearance at the Moray Jazz Club at Boroughbriggs in Elgin on Thursday, April 13.

Club spokesman Ewan McCallum said: “This is a very exciting new contemporary instrumental jazz quartet who are based in Perthshire – but have a very international flavour.

“Their members hail from Greece, Italy and of course here in Scotland. They bring their own flair to the classic jazz standards that we all know and love – with hints of Jazz Fusion, Bossa Nova and Jazz Funk.”

Featuring piano, guitar, percussion and bass, the Pappas Quartet’s Moray appearance is part of their ‘An Evening With’ tour, taking in dates around the country that are further growing their reputation. Their Elgin appearance will see the show started at 8pm – with entrance at the door being charged at just £6.

There will also be a licenced bar on the evening.
