Lack of assistance placing Moray MS support service in danger

A MORAY GROUP offering vital support to people suffering from a debilitating disease has said that they are in danger of having to close because of a lack of manpower.

The MS Society Moray group has been reduced in strength to just two volunteers struggling to keep their service going in the face of increasing pressures.

Recently a fund raising effort on behalf of the local group by Susan Shand demonstrated public willingness when it smashed through its £4000 target – however, it is a lack of volunteers that is causing real problems locally.

Susan told insideMoray: “A local group presence helps us gather information to shape services and develop them where gaps exist.

“We can also offer access to financial support – so my appeal is, if you have experience in any of this or are web/internet/newsletter savvy or are just willing to support people affected by MS, then please get in touch for more information.

“We’ve lots of flexible roles – some that you can even do from home.”

Anyone interested in volunteering for the group should email/call/text Paula MacGillivray to discuss it further. Her contact details are Paula.macgillivray@mssociety.co.uk or mobile number 07590 965465.
