Appeal follows 44-year-old woman being found injured in Elgin

POLICE ARE SEEKING information from the public following an incident in Elgin earlier today that left a 44-year-old woman injured.

The woman was found in the Woodside Terrace area of Elgin and subsequently taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she is receiving treatment for a head injury.

Detective Inspector Norman Stevenson said: “The woman was found in the street with injuries to her head. We have been unable to speak to her to establish how she came to be injured and we are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist us to get in touch.

“Police were called shortly after 5am and she may have been seen in the area around this time or shortly before.

“She is described as having fair hair and is of average build. She was wearing a light-coloured jacket, blue jeans, brown boots and had a black handbag with her.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0354 of 26 October or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
