DRUGS WITH AN ESTIMATED street value of around £1200 were seized in Elgin yesterday as police conducted a day of action.
Several officers carried ‘stop and searches’ in the town, resulting in a seizure of Valium, ecstasy tablets and cannabis.
Four men and a women have now been charged with reports being readied for the Procurator Fiscal.
Constable Jad Leach, of Elgin Community Policing Team, said: “We are committed to targeting the illegal supply and use of drugs in the North East and the associated anti-social behaviour.
“We rely on the community to do this and will act upon any concerns which are reported to us.
