Coach boss Kevin Mayne nominated for new ‘Above and Beyond’ award

A Buckie-based coach company has been nominated for two awards in the industry’s premier recognition scheme rewards excellence among operators and individuals.

Mayne Coaches, a well-known local family-owned business, has been shortlisted in the Medium Coach Operator of the Year (16-50 vehicles) category, and Operations Director Kevin Mayne has been shortlisted in the new Above and Beyond category of the Route One Awards.

The awards are only open to those who have been nominated by their industry peers, so to have been invited to enter is considered an achievement in itself.

Dedicated

Rebecca Mayne said of the nomination: “We are very proud of Team Mayne to be nominated for operator of the year. Our team is extremely dedicated to ensuring that we provide the best service possible and that our daily movements run smoothly so it is great to be acknowledged in this regard.

“We are also extremely proud of Kevin for being recognised as a valuable and dedicated pillar of the industry in his efforts of going Above and Beyond for every operator and the coach industry in its entirety over the last 2 years.

“We are now on the brighter side of two challenging years and this is a great achievement to celebrate both the resilience and dedication of our team.

Key factors

Rebecca added that team effort, technology and customer service training are key factors in their approach.

“It is not just our integrated use of the best technology on the market, our repeated and eco-efficient, high value fleet investments or even our industry leading in-house training programme that allows us to deliver the highest standard of service possible.

“It is our team who answers every call with a cheery hello and who greets each passenger with a smile. We go above and beyond to ensure that our passengers have the best interaction and journey each time they step on a Maynes Coach. it is very much the human interaction with a friendly member of Team Mayne that makes the experience.

“We have been the name to trust in travel since 1947 and have always been very proud to be leading the industry forward. Our customers, new and returning, expect and receive a high standard of service that stems from our industry pride and family values.

“These nominations are another way for our customers to see that we continue to be at the top of our field and that they are making the right choice in travelling ‘The Mayne Way’. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their messages of congratulations on this achievement.

The winners will be announced at a spectacular black-tie event in November at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

Event director Helen Conway: “As ever, the awards seek to reward people and operators for their exemplary achievements at a fantastic in-person presentation evening where we can truly celebrate the best in our industry. It is a huge achievement to be shortlisted, and we wish all our finalists the best of luck.”
