The playing fields at Lossiemouth High School were a buzz of activity on Sunday as teams from Moray and beyond took part in a five-a-side football tournament.
While eyes throughout the planet will be on the FIFA World Cup kick-off on Thursday, for teams in the Moray Under-13 and Under-14 category the target was having fun and raising much needed funds.
Emerging victorious were the team from Huntly (U-14) and Deveronvale (U-13) who both defeated local lads Lossiemouth High School in their respective finals.
It was not just about winning – hundreds of youngsters took part and enjoying a day in the sunshine. Looking on was special guest and local Paralympics hero Jim Gault, who handed out the medals and trophies.
Jim said: “It’s great to see this happening in Lossiemouth again and I have to say after watching a lot of the games today the standard was remarkably high.
“There were a lot of fine young footballers on show – but above all everyone had a lot of fun and clearly enjoyed their day out.”
