The Buckie Lifeboat has rescued a man after being alerted to an incident on the Moray Firth near Buckpool.
The man was reported as being in some difficulty by a member of the public, who alerted Aberdeen Coastguard.
A Coastguard spokesman said: “We had a report of a person in difficulty in the water off Buckpool, just west of Buckie.
“The call was a 999 call – a member of the public became a bit concerned when they saw the person in the water.
“The lifeboat from Buckie went and located the casualty 100metres from the shore – the lifeboat took him on board. He is being seen by paramedics now.”
A police spokeswoman added that they were aware of the incident and that there had been “some concerns” for the male swimmer.
