The depth of talent existing in Moray is set to come together for a celebration of all that is good in the region.

A ‘Celebration of Moray’ variety concert is to be held in Lossiemouth’s Town Hall in October for an evening that will see individual and collective talents joining together to help raise vital funding for MFR’s Cash for Kids charity.

Singers, dancers, comedians, musicians and magicians of all ages will be on show to demonstrate the wide variety of stage talent in the region.

Lyndsay Rose from MFR Cash for Kids said: “This will be a very special evening – Moray has shown over the years that it is a centre for stage excellence and we are delighted that already several of the most talented people living in our towns and villages will be stepping onto the stage.

“One of the first to confirm that they will be performing is Lossiemouth band Peruvia, who have packed out the Town Hall for their own shows several times.

“Our final line up is still being formed and we will keep people up to date as the big night approaches via our Facebook page.”

Alongside the concert itself young people have been laid the challenge by Dynamic Visions of presenting images that represent their view of ‘Summer in Moray’ – with the winning images on show at the ‘Celebration of Moray’ event.

The event is being supported by community staff at the Elgin branch of Asda and insideMoray.

Stuart Crowther, editor of insideMoray, said: “We are delighted to be involved in this project in particular as funds raised will go to such a worthy local charity.

“Many superb acts have already said they will be performing on the night – but we would still like to hear from others, in particular stand-up comedians or conjurers – or indeed anyone with a talent for both!”

The concert will be held on Friday, October 3 at 7.30pm – anyone wishing to perform on the evening is asked to contact Lyndsay Rose at Lyndsay.Rose@mfr.co.uk
