Woman taken to hospital after A96 accident near Forres

A woman was taken to hospital in Elgin on Monday after suffering injuries after her Kia Picanto was involved in a collision on the A96 near Forres.

Her car collided with a Vauxhall Meriva two miles west of the town close to the Dyke junction on the Aberdeen to Inverness route.

The crash caused further delays on the road which was already congested because of roadworks nearby.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said that officers were called to the scene at 4.34pm, adding: “The accident involved a Vauxhall Meriva and a Kia Picanto. One person is thought to have a possible leg injury.”

Meanwhile a spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service added: “One female patient has been taken to Dr Gray’s hospital in Elgin.”
