Vandals have attacked private homes on two streets in Elgin this week sparking an appeal from local police.
Homes in Ferrier Terrace and Covesea Road were daubed with spray pain at some point between 11pm on Tuesday and 7am the following morning.
Police described the incident as “deeply distressing” for homeowners and appealed for information from anyone who might have knowledge of who was behind the attacks.
The attacks on residential property are a particular disappointment after police announced earlier this month a 22% reduction in vandalism over the last quarter.
Constable Roddy MacLeod said: “These incidents are deeply distressing to the occupants of the properties and I would urge anyone who saw something suspicious to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 if they wished to remain anonymous.
