Firefighters called to distillery as man becomes trapped

Firefighters had to be called to the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown on Wednesday when a man became trapped.

The man had to be rescued when he became trapped between the cab and trailer of a lorry at around 4.10pm.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “He has minor injuries and was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.”

Meanwhile Fire and Rescue officers were called to attend a series of farm machinery fires throughout the north east.

Ten appliances were called out to five fires at farms over a two-hour period including one in Fochabers.

Three of the fires involved combine harvesters and firefighters attended another two where bailers were the cause of fires. The call-outs all happened between 3pm and 5pm on Wednesday – nobody is believed to have been injured in any of the incidents.
