Moray is set to become a magnet for clubbers from throughout the north when a small rural community is boosted by hundreds for a feast of dance music this month.

The Mighty Rhumba Club is to host what they say will be the finest underground dance music event ever seen in the region when they arrive at The Loft at East Grange Farm near Kinloss on August 30.

Rhumba have been hosting major dance events for over 20 years in London, Ibiza, Hong Kong and at various venues in Scotland. The Moray event is to be the last stop in the dance club’s ‘Summer Nights’ tour.

Two separate rooms will be set up at the Moray venue with a spokesman for Rhumba saying: “The Moray area has been starved of this kind of action for way too long.

“We are expecting a huge turnout and would appeal to people wishing to be a part of this amazing evening to get in early for tickets as they will be limited.

“The northern leg of this tour is a very special party with a difference as all DJs in the main room are girls – a proper celebration of dance music hosted by some of the finest female DJ talent in the country.”

Room one at the event will feature ‘We Are Rhumba – Here Come The Girls’ with Lisa Loud, Anne Savage, Lucy Stone and Nikki Flame plus local ladies Rachel Innes from Keith and Becci Brennan of Forres.

In keeping with the all female cast on the main stage the Rhumba have also secured the services of local visuals artist Caroline Bury (aka VJ Visual Eyes) who will supply a visual backdrop to the night and help create a unique clubbing experience.

The spokesman added: “In room two on the night dance fans can expect plenty dance floor rocking tech house, progressive, electro , trance and techno from local bad boys Clyde Rouge, Sidney, Allotarythimman and Steve McKnight.”

Tickets for the event can be obtained locally at Sound & Vision in Elgin, JMK in Buckie, the Caber Bar or the Ionic Bar in Elgin, Lossiemouth’s Clifton Bar or Fraser’s the Butchers in Forres.
