A mobile information bus is to tour several Moray communities offering free ‘digital taster sessions’ to help people get online.
The initiative by the ‘Living it Up’ organisation will be part of Get Online Week from October 14 to 17.
Living it Up is a three year programme working with local partnerships across Scotland aimed at empowering people to improve their health and well-being.
They deliver innovative and integrated health, care and wellbeing services, information and products via familiar technology, enabling people to keep better connected with their communities and those they care for and receive care from.
Technologies used by the Living it Up includes TV, mobile phone, games consoles, computers and tablets.
A spokeswoman said: “During ‘Get Online’ week Living it Up will be visiting towns across Moray with our Mobile Information Bus.
“We will be running free digital taster sessions to help you get online. The sessions will provide people with guides and information on a range of topics to suit your needs.
“That will include things like setting up Email, using Skype to keep in touch with family and friends or even tips on staying safe online.”
The sessions will be held between 10am and 4pm at:
- Tuesday 14th October – Keith Tesco
- Wednesday 15th October – Forres Tesco
- Thursday 16th October – Buckie Tesco
- Friday 17th October – Elgin Town Centre
The spokeswoman added: “There is no need to book, just come on down and try a free digital taster session to help you get started online. Our friendly team will welcome you onto our information bus and get you started.”
