Two people were left seriously injured from a head-on collision on a Moray road on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services were called to the A941 Elgin to Colburn road at around 5.20pm after a Fiat Panda and Volkswagen Golf collided close to the Fogwatt Garage.
Two men and two women travelling in the Panda were injured with two – a 26-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman – were rushed to Dr Gray’s Hospital.
The other two occupants of the Fiat suffered whiplash injuries that is understood not to have required hospital treatment, while the male driver of the Volkswagen escaped without injury.
Injuries suffered by the man and woman who were taken to hospital were being described as “serious but not life threatening” by police, who attended the scene with two fire and rescue appliances and two ambulance crews.
The road remained closed in both directions while assessments were carried out on the injuries and investigations began into the cause of the accident.
