Essential skills and English for speakers of other languages will be the focus of Moray’s Library Services during Family Learning Week.

Running from November 1 to November 7, a week-long programme of activities has been arranged aimed at families learning together.

The opening session on Monday, November 3 will be held at the local heritage centre in Elgin and at the Lossiemouth Library, where visitors will be able to explore their family history.

Meanwhile at the Lady Cathcart Community Centre in Buckie there will be a healthy eating quiz and fact-finding activities around healthy eating.

Also that day Elgin library will host sessions – which will be repeated on November 5 – where parents will be able to learn how to help their children with school homework.

Regular Bookbug sessions will be enhanced on November 5 and November 7 when additional sessions in Polish will be held at Elgin and Forres libraries.

Forres library will also host Gaelic stories and rhymes on Tuesday, November 4.

The full programme for Family Learning Week is available from Essential Skills development officer Moira Strathdee on 01343 562632 or community librarian Jane Thomas on 01343 562619.
