Four men are set to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today following a disturbance in the town at the weekend that left one man requiring hospital treatment.
The man suffered minor injuries after the alleged incident in the area of the New Elgin Road on Saturday night.
The four men aged 19, 21, 44 and 45 are expected to appear at the court today.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland are making enquiries into the circumstances surrounding a disturbance which occurred in the New Elgin Road area during Saturday evening.
“The incident resulted in a male being conveyed to Dr Gray’s Hospital for treatment to an injury sustained during the disturbance – the injury is assessed as non-life threatening.”
Local councillor Graham Leadbitter said: “Any incident like this will be a cause of concern in the community where there appears to be a large group involved.”
Any member of the public who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and saw anything are being asked to call the police on 101.
