Locally produced food served up by a leading visitor attraction in Moray has led to its winning a prestigious tourism award.
The Johnston’s of Elgin Cashmere visitor centre came out top in the VisitScotland and Scottish Government ‘Taste our best food’ scheme.
Taste our Best is a quality assurance scheme is an accreditation that marks recipients as providing only quality ingredients of Scottish provenance and the best season produce.
Those receiving the award have to show that at least 40% of their menu features Scottish produce.
Managing director of retail the five-star Elgin visitor centre is George McNeil. He said: “Our coffee shop at Johnstons of Elgin is extremely proud to be using locally sourced produce.
“The entire company operates on the principle that only the best is good enough – therefore to receive the Taste Our Best award from VisitScotland is a great privilege.”
