Two-car smash near Keith lands woman driver in hospital

A two-car smash on the A96 near Keith led to a woman being taken to hospital on Friday afternoon.

The accident involving a blue Fiat and a similarly coloured Honda CRV happened at around 1.30pm on the main Aberdeen to Inverness route just south of Keith.

A female driver of one of the vehicles suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Turner Memorial Hospital in Keith for treatment.

While the a fire and rescue unit was called to the incident it was later stood down as police dealt with the incident, saying that both vehicles were travelling in the same direction at the time of the accident.

A spokesman said: “It was a front to rear-end crash and the road was not closed.”

An ambulance crew were in attendance with a spokeswoman saying: “A female who had sustained minor injuries was taken to the Turner Memorial Hospital.”
