Community set to light up their village at annual display

Competition winner Donnie Evans lights up the 2013 Mulben display

One of the smallest Moray communities are determined to once again make the biggest bangs when they hold their annual Fireworks Display on Sunday.

The Mains of Mulben display has gained a reputation over the years for being one of the most ambitious community evenings on the calendar – and organisers are determined that 2014 will be no different.

A Bar-b-q will provide burgers and hot dogs throughout the evening while kids will be kept entertained with flashing novelties and a fun-fair roundabout.

A spokeswoman for organisers the Mulben Picnic Committee said: “We are very proud of the fact that people come from far and wide for our display each year.

“Entry to the event is free of charge but donations are always welcome and go towards the costs of holding the display the following year.

“We are looking forward to seeing as many people as possible – we have disabled parking areas laid aside with free parking for all.”

Organisers have also used their Facebook Page to launch a competition for the honour of lighting the bonfire on the night – closing date for entries is Friday.
