Anyone who has never visited a podiatrist just does not fully realise what they are missing out on.
That was the view of at least one client leaving the premises of a professional Moray podiatry service this week – now others are being invited to find out for themselves the advantages of a brief visit to the foot doctor!
Footworks in Elgin is offering people the opportunity to check out their services this weekend when they hold an open day at their South Street therapy centre.
Owner Pippa Campbell said: “Foot care is important and many clients tell us that a routine appointment that might include cutting nails, removing hard skin and identifying possible causes of pressure can make a world of difference.
“We are qualified to carry out nail surgery for ingrown toenails, remove corns and treat verrucas. We can also give ultrasound therapy on soft tissue damage, bruises or sprains.”
The rise of Diabetes in the UK has increased the awareness of the need to have feet regularly checked, an area that Pippa is well aware of: “We can offer diabetic foot care and biomechanics – specialist treatment for people with sore knees, legs or hips using orthotics.”
After visiting the South Street therapy centre this week insideMoray editor Stuart Crowther said; “As a Type II diabetes sufferer who also has issues with ingrown toenails I have always recognised the importance of visiting a podiatrist or chiropodist.
“Health issues apart there is nothing quite like the feeling you have after visiting Pippa or her partner Colleen Guy so I would urge anyone to visit them at their open day this weekend.”
The Footworks Open Day is from 12noon until 3pm on Saturday at 12 South Street, Elgin.
