A new housing development in Elgin is one of two in the north of Scotland that has been chosen to pay a special remembrance tribute this week.
Barratt North Scotland have placed a 3-foot high poppy at their development on Thornhill Road as a tribute to those from the strong military community who gave their lives in conflicts around the world.
A matching poppy has been placed at the company’s Pinefields site in Inverness.
Senior sales adviser Margaret Harbison said: “It is very important to take time to think about the sacrifice so many servicemen and women have made to safeguard the liberties we enjoy today.
“It is also appropriate to support our serving armed forces, forces veterans and their families, many of whom live among us. We hope that local people will come along to see our giant poppies and take a moment to reflect on the contribution these men and women have made to our safety and freedom.”
The company said that they have also made a donation to the Scottish Poppy Appeal.
