Rain fails to dampen the November firework spirit

Elgin Fireworks (David Robertson)

Almost as traditional as the annual fireworks displays themselves, rain arrived in Elgin last night and attempted to put a dampener on proceedings.

However, hundreds turned out despite the weather and enjoyed another spectacular bonfire and display organised by the Elgin Rotary Club.

Providing the music and a running commentary through the evening was Paul Jamieson – it is understood that little mention was made of Paul’s team Elgin City being dumped out of the Scottish Cup by East Junior side Bo’ness United!

The organisers were delighted that rain or no rain people were determined to enjoy the evening: “Elgin Rotary Club would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended our Bonfire and Fireworks Display.

“Whilst we didn’t order the rain, we hope you all enjoyed the evening and the weather didn’t dampen your night.

“We would like to thank Robert and his team at Moray Firth Fireworks Ltd for the display and Paul Jamieson our compère for the night.

“Most of all we would like to thank the public for continually supporting us and giving so generously. Your donations allow us to continue providing this event for you year on year.”

More images from the display can be seen on the insideMoray Facebook page.
