Guides to an alternative Christmas delivery in Moray town

Lossiemouth and Hopeman residents are being reminded that there is an alternative means of delivering Christmas cards and messages in their area.

The annual Scout and Guide Christmas postal service is under way once again this year, with special boxes in place around the towns.

Cards will be accepted for delivery by Lossiemouth Scouts and Guides within the two town up until Monday, December 22.

Alan Anderson, the group leader for the 1st Lossiemouth Scout Group, said: “We have placed post boxes at both Co-operative stores as well as at Buckley’s Newsagents and Doug’s Fish Bar.

“We ask that anyone depositing their cards for delivery make a 20pm donation for each card – we will then collect and deliver them to addresses in Lossiemouth and Hopeman. Unfortunately we are unable to deliver to outlying areas.

“The 1st Lossiemouth Scout Group’s share of funds raised will go directly to our much needed roof replacement fund.

“We would like to thank the Lossiemouth community for their support over the years and for helping us to provide Scouting and Guiding for the children of Lossiemouth.

“Lossie Scots and Guides also wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
